This
extensive land spreads over 1022 sq. kms. It lies resting its head on the
"Sahyadri" and its feet soothed by the waves of the deep blue
"Arabian Sea". Nurtured and nourished by the blessings of the
Swami Sangameswara (Bharatha, the younger son of the Lord Sri Dasaradha),
Irinjalakuda has a distinct niche in educational, socio-economic, and cultural
development of Kerala. The Koothambalam of the temple hosts the traditional
art forms of ‘Kooth' and ‘Koodiyattam' which attract the lovers of traditional
art from all over the world. The famous Unnayi Varrier Kalanilayam nurtures
the art forms of Kathakali, Koodiyattam, Mohiniyattam and others.
Laced by
Chalakudy Puzha, Kurumali Puzha and the Athirappilly Water Falls the lush
green of paddy fields and crops of plantain, coconut and mango provides

colleges and more than four hundreds of schools and technical institutions,
the blooming talents spread the acclaim of Irinjalakuda far and wide.
